EVO 10'3 Bamboo

EVO 10'3
SUP on a perfect surf platform

The 2012 EVO 10’3 is available in two construction types, AST and Bamboo, and it is ideal for use in surf as well as for cruising.

The Evo line offers a longer and straighter outline than the Edge. This concept originates from modern longboard shapes, incorporating a flat deck combined with an even volume distribution. This range is particularly suitable for heavier and also more novice paddlers, providing a very stable stand-up platform.

Equipped with a rig insert, these boards are a perfect addition to any wave sailor’s board quiver, opening up those days where the surf is still cranking even when the wind is gone. Just plug in one of your wave rigs, and go ride those waves until the wind returns.

In addition to a carry handle, the boards have double leash plugs, half deck EVA and 3 fins as standard.

A few runs in stronger wind roheugr conditions. Rather overpowered on my 10.5 and shortboards with 8.5 to 7m were planing.Seems to plane pretty early and easily, broad reaching, track back the nose was pretty high. I pushed it down and into some small waves/chop where the bow hit the wave and bounced back up, spray coming off the bow just like a boat. On a couple of waves it went straight through, but no real problem. Was not the best trial as I could not get my feet into the straps very well, so I never had the best trim. At times it felt quite competitive for speed, other times slower than the 380E, but I put this down to my lack of time on this board. It can point high when planing, the 380E can’t. Due to the width I find it easier to sail than the 380EStill early days for me to find the best trim, but some people seem to loose sight of what this board was designed to do win races in light to medium winds. For sure there will be days and conditions where other boards will be faster/more competitive, but over the course of a series or a seasons racing I am sure this board will meet its design brief
